They say that kindness is a language that the blind can see. Our mission at the Kilimanjaro Blind Trust Africa is to speak, and teach, this language to those that need it the most – the visually impaired. But we can’t do it alone.
The Perkins Brailler is a typewriter for the blind, and in East Africa, on average, three blind children are forced to share one Braille machine between them. At Kilimanjaro Blind Trust Africa, we are on a relentless quest to bring this ratio down to 1:1 – one machine per child. In order to reach this target, we are launching a fundraising campaign starting on June 24th, 2016. The objective is to raise enough money to purchase 100+ of these Braille machines.
When your entire world is shrouded in darkness, the beauty you behold comes in other forms – such as learning and expanding your knowledge base. This is why we are doing this, and you can help us by being a shining light in these childrens’ lives.
If you’d like to help us in our journey as we strive to offer children the basic right they were born with – quality education – then please feel free to make a generous gift via our MyVision campaign page hosted on Deposit a Gift towards our goal of $60,000 (100 Braillers). Thanks in advance for your generosity!
